Inspiration - Comments

Read me

I sometimes go through the statistics on my blog.  How many people have read my posts the past month, where are my readers from, how do they find me, etc etc.  It's quite interesting!  I have readers from all over the world - USA, Russia, Kenya, Indonesia, India, France, Poland, for example.  This starts me thinking.  How do they find me?  What do they think about my blog?  Have I taught them anything?  Maybe about life in this country, traditions, culture...?

And going through the long list of posts, I can see how many page views there are for each post.  I haven't quite figured that one out just yet, it says 1 in front of most of them.  And I know for a fact that more than one person has read one post...  But the other day I ran into a 1 somewhere else than for page views.  It was for comments!  Wow, I had a comment from someone!  It was from a pastor in India, telling me a little about his life there and how he works with poor people and volunteers to help him with his accomplishments.  So great with a sign of life from out there!  It's like meeting somebody you have been working with for a long time over e-mail and telephone.  A face to the voice sort of thing.  So I encourage you to comment on my posts, it would be great for me!  You there in the nail parlor in Belarus, do you read me on your coffee break?  And you there on campus of UI, skipping class again?  And you there by Lake Turkana, beware of the crocodiles!  And you there at the katamaran rental in Key West, do you read me while the tourists go for a swim?  Who are you guys?  Let me know!

I try to write in an entertaining way, some spite and irony, some description, some joy and some sadness.  And for my pastor in India I will try to write more in English.  You know, there is google translate and things like that, but it is what it is.  I once wrote a post about that and I laughed my butt off when I saw the result of that translation.  So Google Translate, don't flatter yourself!  Try to translate a German text into Finnish, you'll see...  You won't understand a thing!

My blog will never be financed by ads.  It doesn't cost me anything to do this, but I don't make any money either.  I could, but I choose not to.  I just want to write!  If you want to read me you are ever so welcome...

Take it easy out there, be good and God Bless!
