Back in time
There are songs that can take you back to the days they were made. Maybe it was before your time, maybe it's a newly found favorite song that creeps beneath your skin. Listening to certain songs you go back in time and either remember or create memories. You can be present in those days, be a part of the artists' every day life. You can see them walking down the streets with their guitar cases, bell-bottomed jeans and sheepskin vests, smoking cigarettes, chatting. Maybe you can see them entering a building, most likely that's where their studio is. What time is it? Is the sun shining? Is it summer? Or do they get there by car? Are they arguing? Are they high on something? Hung-over? How do they smell? Good mood, bad mood? Anyway, the music I used to dislike so much back in the days is golden to me now. Music from the 60's and the 70's, a period when they could really make music - real music. Some of it was hard to understand (too much acid?), but it was still genious.
That David Bowie is a favorite to me has probably not been missed by anyone. He will stop by in my postings here from time to time, you'd better get used to that. Today I let him share my favorite classic with a couple of other classics.
