Inspiration - Music is...

Today's music

Music is an amazing thing.  Music can take you away just about anywhere; back in time, into your dreams, up among the stars, to other parts of the world.  Music can make you laugh, and music can make you cry.  Music can inspire you, start you up and slow you down.  And music can trigger memories and even put you right there where you want to be - or not.  But...  There is music that can make you go bananas!  Music that can stress you so much you're practically crawling out of your skin.  And that's where I'll start.

I absolutely loath this new commercial boom-boom-trrrrrrrrrr-boof-boof noise you hear every time you turn the radio on.  This noise along with some poor girl wining in a key waaaay higher than manageable makes my heart go bezerk and my ears fall off.  One pitch higher and she'll burst!!  Somehow I'd like to stay with the radio as it after all seems a bit genuin, but for the love of everything that's holy - it's impossible!  I zap more when I listen to the radio than I do watching TV!  In the mornings I go from morning show on national radio to the news on local radio.  I prefer the news on the local radio station because they read the news plain and simple.  No weird unnecessary noise, like drum machines and stuff in the background.  Good for absolutely nothing, just freaking annoying!  Plus I get regular traffic updates - priceless for car pooling.  Commercial radio - drop dead!!  Well, except for the rock channel, at least they play real and genuin music along being amusing to listen to.  But as for the  rest, just please...  One of these channels tries to make you believe you get some extra energy, but trust me, you don't.  You get gastroenteritis big time!  Trrrrr-boof-boof-oeeeeoeoeoeeeee-urrk...!  Just saying...  Now don't get me wrong, some new music is really good and I can listen to a lot of it too.  But commercial radio kills it by playing the same songs over and over and over until you can't stand it anymore!  There is old music too you know, it's nothing shameful to play it every once in a while.

I barely tolerate the new kind of rap.  I can enjoy rap, but not this new one that only consists of "uh, uh, uh, yeah, uhu, uhu, yeah, uh, uh...".  You get the picture...  And the music to go with this is just something simple that goes "tick-tick-tick-tick...".  Get that one too?  I can imagine what an interview with an artist like this would be like:  "Could you please tell the listeners a little about this song?  What inspired you, and what message would you like to send with it?"  "Well, uh, yeah, you know, uh, kinda, I guess, uh, you know, yeah, man, right, uh... " And it goes on...

And a lot of the new modern dance music is not even all that new!  Many of the songs are based on covers!  They can't even write a song from scratch!  Pitiful really...   And if the skirts are shorter than your panties and the jeans hang below your butt, why wear any of it at all...?

Music that has inspired this post:  None whatsoever

Not my kind of music
